Opening older TurboCAD Mac files in v4 and v5 (backward compatibility):
|
Versions 1&2 Owners:
Version 1 and 2 files are not compatible with v4 and/or v5. However, files can be exported to a DXF and then imported into v4 or v5.
For 3D drawing you should also try exporting as a *.SAT format into v4/v5.
Version 3 Owners:
TurboCAD Mac versions 4 & 5 do have the ability to directly import TurboCAD Mac 3 files if they are resaved (exported) as v1 file from v3.
To do so use the following steps:
In your TurboCAD Mac version 3 product, open the file you wish to use in version 4. From the ‘File’ menu, choose ‘Export’ and then make sure you select ‘v1.0’ as the Export type. Save the file under the name you wish and note that files saved in TurboCAD Mac (2D-only version) will be saved with a ‘.TC2’ file extension, while files saved in TurboCAD Mac PRO (2D/3D edition) will be saved in a ‘.TC3’ file extension. To open this saved file in your copy of TurboCAD Mac version 4, from the ‘File’ menu, choose the ‘Import’ option and make sure file type is set to ‘TC2, .TC3, .TCM’. Find the file saved in your version 3 and select it. The file will open inside your copy of TurboCAD Mac version 4.
