2D Architectural Tutorial for TurboCAD

This tutorial CD teaches users how to design a single story home from start to finish utilizing 2D architectural features in TurboCAD. It includes 5 hours of videos, broken down into several "mini movies" that make it easy to learn at your own pace. In addition to designing the home plan, the program offers green design tips such as how to design “modular” to reduce or eliminate wasted lumber, trusses, concrete blocks and more.

The videos in the tutorial have been completely rerecorded to include TurboCAD 16 architectural feature updates. It is appropriate for all levels of TurboCAD (Platinum, Pro, Deluxe, and Designer), through some of the new topics discussed, like using the style manager to define custom style guides and creating multi-component walls, require either the TurboCAD Pro Architectural Edition and TurboCAD Pro Platinum Edition.

Quickly Get Up to Speed
Introductory lessons help you get started, providing an overview of the basic tools you’ll need including installing the files, snaps, creating tool bars, creating your custom desktop, installing symbols, differences between blocks and symbols, about component walls, creating component walls, and saving the template.

Create the Floor Plan
Next you will begin to apply what you’ve learned so far to set up your floor plan. Here you will learn about doors and door styles, inserting windows, dimensioning, drawing exterior slabs, and creating the shear schedule.

Add Details Step-by-Step
Next the program provides a series of tutorials that walk users through setting up the roof plan, foundation plan, elevations, building section, and electrical plan. Then, you’ll layout the site plan drawing the lot, positioning the house, and drawing the utilities. Finally, we finish the plan, placing detail markers, square footage, job info, and saving your template.
