DesignCAD 3D MAX, made popular by its reasonable learning curve and long list of versatile 2d and 3d design features, has just received a major update. In addition to a Windows 64-bit compatible version for managing large CAD files, DesignCAD 3D MAX can now read/write the STL file format for working with 3D printers. Additional new file formats supported include SketchUp SKP, OBJ commonly used for exchanging 3D models, and GIF which DesignCAD now uses to work with raster image data. There is also a new command to Triangulate Surfaces which can be helpful when converting the drawing to a different drawing format for use in some other program (OBJ, DWG, DXF, STL, SKP).
